Rice & Larpenteur

Rice & Larpenteur is a neighborhood hub where the cities of Roseville, Maplewood, and Saint Paul meet up at the intersection of the two county roads. In recent efforts to revitalize the area and create a center that includes common spaces, a high-quality pedestrian environment and robust reinvestment for the diverse people of the surrounding communities to live, conduct business, and play together, the Rice & Larpenteur Alliance group approached SPOT to help create an identity for the neighborhood. The resulting identity is one that is reminiscent of a street sign and cross roads, symbolizing the crossing of the intersection that is at the very heart of the represented area, while the emphasis on the ampersand represents a joining together and overall community feel and use of bright colors celebrate the vast multi-culturalism of the neighborhood.
